    Look up...

A laugh is all it takes to break the walls of inevitability.

Laugh my friend. Nothing pierces the agony of the indivisible torments of life but a cheeky laugh that widens a smile holding the tears that want to be while none are left to be let run free.

    • How small are we?
    • Can we hit the wall and not stop?
    • We are here. That’s enough.

    — Stargazing. #recognize

I took a step outside a wooden sauna in the middle of a dark night where the only way to find light is to look up.

The grass was wet below the feet. The humidity shivering on the skin with a gentle cold. Eyes gazing up to a full night sky adorned with glowing stars these words came out:

    Such a pity

The world is in so much pain
    wasting its precious moments
    from witnessing the vastness
    of this plane

Stars abound that fill the essence
    in glory and presence

    So sad the cries
bathed in the flames of kindness
burning in the madness of hate
    killing itself over and over
    under the endless skies

    Such a pity

Our insignificance is only echoed in our self-indulgence for a greater legacy that deems us worthy.

But what’s our worth but the shining reflection in the light of a distant star taking its time to reach us to marvel at the scary realization that our time is not only finite but almost entirely abysmal?

We laugh at the irony of the pain inflicted, trying to project a self-worth that’s not worthy.

And the closer and longer we look. The night sky grows bigger and its depth unravels in layers and layers slowly capturing more infinite grains in this tapestry in which we slowly are being made to disappear.

    Night Sky by Carlo Mahfouz.

And we are yet to wake up to this dream walking in each other shoes to realize it never was but one and even yet … barely.

    — Hitting Walls. #understand

In this spread of how far the threshold of being dissolves, we meet moments where we feel the end is near.

The wall stands tall in front of our eyes and we cannot see beyond it. We are about to crash.

We feel it in every inch of our soul and bone. The idea in its multitude of outcomes that seem to halt the progress of tomorrow seems inevitable.

While that might be, in every song the crescendo carries us to the tipping point, we are but one step away from experiencing another moment that feels like a crash but is nothing but a step.

A step to laugh at the brightness that carry our hearts to smile and see the light staring down at us amidst a night noisy with interference making us feel obsolete.

    — A Laugh. #accept

It might feel as if I’m speaking in riddles. But until you are in that moment you won’t understand its torment.

I love you. Or I care for you might be more politically correct. But frankly be damned to either when we stand in the truth of a laugh needed to break the wall that’s all that matters.

I stepped inside from the cold, reminded that we can judge, decide, or not, and still the beauty that holds us makes us worthy whether we know it’s there or not.

Look up my friend the sky is bright and the tears are not worthy.

    Until next time,
    Carlo
